		<title>Two Questions All Voters MUST Ask Themselves</title>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have written emails or letters to my legislators and to all of the presidential candidates to see what they think about states right vs. the rights of the federal government.  I have given them an historical quote and asked them two important questions.  No child should leave school without knowing the answer to these two questions.  No voter should enter the voting booth without know this part of American history.  No political candidate should be able to take office without being aware of this quote and knowing the answer to these two questions.  All responsible parents should give their children this quote from Jefferson and ask them these two questions.</p>
<p>In my blog next week I will answer the questions I pose.  I say to my readers that I want the issue to sink down into your souls.  I want you to dwell on this for awhile.  </p>
<p>Below is the content of the letter I have written to all of my legislators.  No one has yet replied to my letter.  If someone does, I will include their replies, no matter whether I agree with them or not:<br />

<p><strong>Dear Sir or Ma&#8217;am,</strong></p>
<p>I would like to give you a quote from Thomas Jefferson, and then ask you two questions.  Your answer will be included in my web site, www.rehoboth-news.com.  To facilitate my ability to include your answer, please reply by email to oasis@inbox.com .</p>
<p><strong>HERE IS THE QUOTE:</strong><br />
<em>“With respect to our state and federal governments, I do not think their relations correctly understood by foreigners. They generally suppose the former subordinate to the latter. But this is not the case. They are co-ordinate departments of one simple and integral whole. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>HERE is a story about the sovereignty of God that I learned today in Sunday School.   I wanted to share it with you:</strong></p>
<p>There once was a poor farmer who had almost nothing.  His wife died, and all he had left was his son and his horse.  The horse got out of his corral and was lost.</p>
<p>The neighbors came to him and said, “You poor man.  What a bad thing has happened to you.” </p>
<p>The farmer said, “Don&#8217;t say that.  We don&#8217;t know what God is doing.” </p>
<p>Two days later, the horse returned with three horses.  Now the farmer had four horses and his wealth was beginning to return. </p>
<p>The neighbors came to him and said, “You are a fortunate man.  What a good thing has happened to you.” </p>
<p>The farmer said, “Don&#8217;t say that.  We don&#8217;t know what God is doing.”  </p>
<p>The next day, the farmers son was in the process of breaking one of the new horses, was thrown from the horse and broke his leg.  </p>
<p>The neighbors came to him and said, “You poor man.  What a bad thing has happened to you.” </p>
<p>The farmer said, “Don&#8217;t say that.  We don&#8217;t know what God is doing.”</p>
<p>Soon, the king of the country came to the village where the poor farmer was, and began taking the young men from each family to go away to a war.  Most of these young people would never return, as they would be killed in the war.  But the farmer&#8217;s son was not taken because he had a broken leg.</p>
<p>The farmer believed that God was <strong>powerful</strong> enough to change all of the circumstances in his life.  He believed that God was <strong>good</strong> all the time.  He believed that God was <strong>wise</strong> enough to make nothing but beneficial choices for him.</p>
<p><strong>So the question is, what is a good thing?</strong></p>
<p>A good thing is that which will result in our good God being glorified.  The farmer did a good thing by trusting and obeying God even when he did not understand His ways.</p>
<p><strong>And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.  For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.<br />

Okay, so let&#8217;s see.  Another week has gone by and I should probably add to my blog again.  What to say?  Blah blah blah.  I feel bad because I have looked at the web site stats and nearly seven billion people on this planet have not listened to my pearls of wisdom in the past few weeks.  I feel kind of sorry for those miserable souls.  </p>
<p>So again, let&#8217;s see.  Ahem.  Okay, yeah, so I&#8217;m a little negative.  People hate that, but my negative words are good for them.  I just know it.  It&#8217;s Saturday morning and my mind is blank.  What to write to my adoring fans?  Think.  Think. </p>
<p>Well, let me say this.  </p>
<p><strong>I love America</strong>.  But she&#8217;s in trouble.</p>
<p><strong>I love the church</strong>, and I am a Christian, but we Christians are not always the light of the world .</p>
<p><strong>I love my family</strong>, but we don&#8217;t have the perfect family.  I can&#8217;t have the perfect family because I don&#8217;t have the perfect wife. (Now you are committed.  You have to read this entire blog.)</p>
<p><strong>I love my job</strong>.  I work with the public school system as a para-professional with special needs young people.  But the public school system needs God.  They have expelled God from their schools, and have made themselves irrelevant in the process.</p>
<p><strong>I love the free enterprise system</strong>, but it doesn&#8217;t seem to really be a part of our economy right now.  Our economy is in trouble mainly because it is an economy built on debt.  Money does not exist until someone borrows.  When people talk about how much our country is in debt the answer should be all of it.  There are three things an economy can run on.  Something.  Nothing.  Or less than nothing.  Our economy runs on debt, which is less than nothing.  But then it takes a while to explain that and people are not really interested in that sort of thing.  </p>
<p>So I should just continue on and be negative or just look only at the bright side or just shut up.</p>
<p>But you know that despite my ranting and raving, I am not discouraged, and maybe that is the thing I will write about today.</p>
<p><strong>I am not discouraged about America.</strong>  I don&#8217;t know what the next step will be in America&#8217;s destiny.  But I know the past.  I know that we were born in honor and in a piece of history that has never before existed.  The people of this nation were a religious and righteous people and brought forth a document, the US Constitution, that has never been equaled.  It was not, and is not perfect, but it is very good.</p>
<p><strong>The church?</strong>  Well, I am not perfect.  I guess if I ever found the perfect church I really shouldn&#8217;t join it.  I would just corrupt it.  There are many sins in the church, but it is not Jesus who has made it so.  I trust the Author and Finisher of my faith to be the Author and Finisher of others&#8217; faiths.</p>
<p><strong>My family?</strong>  I do love my wife and three children.  I have a good wife, and I have good children.  I am not really crabby with them.  For one thing, once crabbiness starts, it multiplies.  You should know that my wife is a real fun lover.  If you see her and I at a party, you just gravitate to her and leave me alone.  I have gotten used to it.  I know her abilities, but I also know mine.  I will not publicly rebuke them, and I expect the same from them.  The family was given by God and is a wonderful institution.  But I do not worship the family.  I worship God.  I do not get my emotional well being from the family.  To expect that is to make the family an idol.</p>
<p><strong>My job?</strong>  God owns the cattle on a thousand hills and I will be fine.  </p>
<p><strong>The economy?</strong>  Ditto.</p>
<p>There is a story in the Bible of the prophet Elisha who one day woke up to find himself surrounded by an enemy army.  His servant informed him of this, saying “Alas, my master, what shall we do?”  Elijah asked God to open his servants eyes, and he saw not just the chariots and horses of the enemy, but the horses and chariots of fire that had been sent by God.  See 2 Kings 6.</p>
<p><strong>We can see the reality of the bad things going on around us, but we also MUST see the reality of the horses and chariots of fire that will be sent by God.</strong></p>
<p>In the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, we see the destruction brought by God, but we also see the story of God protecting Lot and his family from the destruction.  See Genesis 18 and 19.</p>
<p>In the story of the ten plagues that brought Israel out of Egypt, one of the things to notice is that God eventually made a distinction between the Israelites and the Egyptians.  The last few plagues were not brought on the Israelites, just the Egyptians.  See Exodus chapters 7 through 12.  See God&#8217;s words in Exodus 12:12, “on all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the LORD.”  I expect it to be the same in America.  At first, the Christians and the unbelievers will go through the same plagues.  But in the end, the Christians will find  themselves leading  our nation out of our national darkness. </p>
<p>Miracles still happen.  After I called any potential readers miserable at the beginning of this post, you still read this.  And I love you for it.</p>
<p>I am not discouraged.  </p>
<p>I serve a risen Savior, who&#8217;s in the world today.</p>

Dear Sirs,</p>
<p>Our nation has forgotten God.  We are attempting to rise from the ashes without acknowledging dependence upon God and seeking obedience to His principles.  In Isaiah 9:10 it says, <em>&#8220;The bricks have fallen, but we will build with dressed stones; the sycamores have been cut down, but we will put cedars in their place.&#8221;</em> </p>
<p>In this Bible passage, the Israelites had just been attacked by the terrorists of their time, the Assyrians.  This was Israel&#8217;s words to the situation.  It was the nation&#8217;s way of saying “We will rebuild!”  It sounds like a noble response until the previous verse is examined.  The previous verse states that Israel said this <em>“in pride and in arrogance of heart.”</em>  They were rebuilding, but without God.  Ten years from this utterance, Israel was conquered by the Assyrians.</p>
<p>In the Declaration of Independence, our nation found themselves <em>“appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world&#8230;with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence.”</em>  Concerning the Revolutionary War, George Washington stated, <em>“The hand of Providence has been so conspicuous in all this, that he must be worse than an infidel that lacks faith, and more than wicked, that has not gratitude enough to acknowledge his obligations.” </em></p>
<p>After our Constitution was ratified, at Washington&#8217;s first inaugural address, he acknowledged God&#8217;s Invisible Hand in the founding of our nation.  I include Washington&#8217;s address for your convenience.  Our first President took his oath of office in the Federal Hall in New York City.  After the address, Washington and the newly elected Senate and the House of Representatives walked the eight blocks to St. Paul&#8217;s Cathedral where they prayed that our nation would be dedicated to the service of God.</p>
<p>A few hundred feet from St. Paul&#8217;s Cathedral stands is now Ground Zero, the site of the 9/11 attacks on our country.  On this site our nation was humbled.  We can either humble ourselves before God, or God will humble us.  Our nation will learn this, as Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon once learned this.</p>
<p>Sirs, I urge you to make a commitment that if elected, you would hold your inauguration at the New York City Federal Hall, then walk with the leaders of our nation to St. Paul&#8217;s cathedral to remember this Invisible Hand, and rededicate our country once again to the service of God.  I further urge that you would order that the original inauguration speech of George Washington be read at this site.  Then I urge you to go to Ground Zero to bring us words of healing.</p>
<p>I am a man of no particular importance.  That is agreed upon by both my friends and my enemies.  But this message has importance.  Will America again seek God&#8217;s face to regain their rightful destiny in the world?  I believe that the right leader might once again bring our nation in that direction.</p>

<p><strong>George Washington&#8217;s First Inaugural Address</strong></p>
<p>April 30, 1789</p>
<p>Fellow Citizens of the Senate and the House of Representatives.</p>
<p>Among the vicissitudes incident to life, no event could have filled me with greater anxieties than that of which the notification was transmitted by your order, and received on the fourteenth day of the present month. On the one hand, I was summoned by my Country, whose voice I can never hear but with veneration and love, from a retreat which I had chosen with the fondest predilection, and, in my flattering hopes, with an immutable decision, as the asylum of my declining years: a retreat which was rendered every day more necessary as well as more dear to me, by the addition of habit to inclination, and of frequent interruptions in my health to the gradual waste committed on it by time. On the other hand, the magnitude and difficulty of the trust to which the voice of my Country called me, being sufficient to awaken in the wisest and most experienced of her citizens, a distrustful scrutiny into his qualifications, could not but overwhelm with despondence, one, who, inheriting inferior endowments from nature and unpracticed in the duties of civil administration, ought to be peculiarly conscious of his own deficiencies. In this conflict of emotions, all I dare aver, is, that it has been my faithful study to collect my duty from a just appreciation of every circumstance, by which it might be affected. All I dare hope, is, that, if in executing this task I have been too much swayed by a grateful remembrance of former instances, or by an affectionate sensibility to this transcendent proof, of the confidence of my fellow-citizens; and have thence too little consulted my incapacity as well as disinclination for the weighty and untried cares before me; my error will be palliated by the motives which misled me, and its consequences be judged by my Country, with some share of the partiality in which they originated.</p>
<p>Such being the impressions under which I have, in obedience to the public summons, repaired to the present station; it would be peculiarly improper to omit in this first official Act, my fervent supplications to that Almighty Being who rules over the Universe, who presides in the Councils of Nations, and whose providential aids can supply every human defect, that his benediction may consecrate to the liberties and happiness of the People of the United States, a Government instituted by themselves for these essential purposes: and may enable every instrument employed in its administration to execute with success, the functions allotted to his charge. In tendering this homage to the Great Author of every public and private good I assure myself that it expresses your sentiments not less than my own; nor those of my fellow-citizens at large, less than either. No People can be bound to acknowledge and adore the invisible hand, which conducts the Affairs of men more than the People of the United States. Every step, by which they have advanced to the character of an independent nation, seems to have been distinguished by some token of providential agency. And in the important revolution just accomplished in the system of their United Government, the tranquil deliberations and voluntary consent of so many distinct communities, from which the event has resulted, cannot be compared with the means by which most Governments have been established, without some return of pious gratitude along with an humble anticipation of the future blessings which the past seem to presage. These reflections, arising out of the present crisis, have forced themselves too strongly on my mind to be suppressed. You will join with me I trust in thinking, that there are none under the influence of which, the proceedings of a new and free Government can more auspiciously commence.</p>
<p>By the article establishing the Executive Department, it is made the duty of the President &#8220;to recommend to your consideration, such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.&#8221; The circumstances under which I now meet you, will acquit me from entering into that subject, farther than to refer to the Great Constitutional Charter under which you are assembled; and which, in defining your powers, designates the objects to which your attention is to be given. It will be more consistent with those circumstances, and far more congenial with the feelings which actuate me, to substitute, in place of a recommendation of particular measures, the tribute that is due to the talents, the rectitude, and the patriotism which adorn the characters selected to devise and adopt them. In these honorable qualifications, I behold the surest pledges, that as on one side, no local prejudices, or attachments; no separate views, nor party animosities, will misdirect the comprehensive and equal eye which ought to watch over this great assemblage of communities and interests: so, on another, that the foundations of our National policy will be laid in the pure and immutable principles of private morality; and the preeminence of a free Government, be exemplified by all the attributes which can win the affections of its Citizens, and command the respect of the world.</p>
<p>I dwell on this prospect with every satisfaction which an ardent love for my Country can inspire: since there is no truth more thoroughly established, than that there exists in the economy and course of nature, an indissoluble union between virtue and happiness, between duty and advantage, between the genuine maxims of an honest and magnanimous policy, and the solid rewards of public prosperity and felicity: Since we ought to be no less persuaded that the propitious smiles of Heaven, can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right, which Heaven itself has ordained: And since the preservation of the sacred fire of liberty, and the destiny of the Republican model of Government, are justly considered as deeply, perhaps as finally staked, on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people.</p>
<p>Besides the ordinary objects submitted to your care, it will remain with your judgment to decide, how far an exercise of the occasional power delegated by the Fifth article of the Constitution is rendered expedient at the present juncture by the nature of objections which have been urged against the System, or by the degree of inquietude which has given birth to them. Instead of undertaking particular recommendations on this subject, in which I could be guided by no lights derived from official opportunities, I shall again give way to my entire confidence in your discernment and pursuit of the public good: For I assure myself that whilst you carefully avoid every alteration which might endanger the benefits of an United and effective Government, or which ought to await the future lessons of experience; a reverence for the characteristic rights of freemen, and a regard for the public harmony, will sufficiently influence your deliberations on the question how far the former can be more impregnably fortified, or the latter be safely and advantageously promoted.</p>
<p>To the preceding observations I have one to add, which will be most properly addressed to the House of Representatives. It concerns myself, and will therefore be as brief as possible. When I was first honored with a call into the Service of my Country, then on the eve of an arduous struggle for its liberties, the light in which I contemplated my duty required that I should renounce every pecuniary compensation. From this resolution I have in no instance departed. And being still under the impressions which produced it, I must decline as inapplicable to myself, any share in the personal emoluments, which may be indispensably included in a permanent provision for the Executive Department; and must accordingly pray that the pecuniary estimates for the Station in which I am placed, may, during my continuance in it, be limited to such actual expenditures as the public good may be thought to require.</p>
<p>Having thus imported to you my sentiments, as they have been awakened by the occasion which brings us together, I shall take my present leave; but not without resorting once more to the benign parent of the human race, in humble supplication that since he has been pleased to favor the American people, with opportunities for deliberating in perfect tranquility, and dispositions for deciding with unparallelled unanimity on a form of Government, for the security of their Union, and the advancement of their happiness; so his divine blessing may be equally conspicuous in the enlarged views, the temperate consultations, and the wise measures on which the success of this Government must depend.  </p>

She started it.  This young lady who is the daughter of an old political friend of mine.  She is her mother&#8217;s daughter, conservative, politically interested and involved.  She is a Christian who was homeschooled her entire life.  Then there&#8217;s me.  I call myself conservative, although I wonder what conservatives are conserving sometimes.  They are often not conserving the Constitution.  My wife and  I homeschooled our children from kindergarten through high school.  I am also a Christian.  Her family and I agree on many things.  But we don&#8217;t agree on Ron Paul.  Here is our back and forth that took place on Facebook.  Bobbie Sue was the first to post.  Some of what I had to say was because our families know each other, and I won&#8217;t share that.  A small bit of it was me asking her if I could quote her in this article.  I am not sharing that.  She did much of the talking and responded to almost all of my words with twice as many words.  That&#8217;s a good thing.  I like people who are involved, even if I disagree with them.  Now, that&#8217;s enough background.  Here was the give and take.</p>
<p><strong>Bobbie Sue:</strong><br />
Did you know that in 2009, the county/district that RON PAUL represents received <a href="http://thesteadyconservative.com/wordpress/2010/02/09/the-ron-paul-voting-record/">$14,707 per resident</a>, topping average per capita federal spending in 46 of the 50 states. Paul earmarked some $60 million for projects in and around the city that year. So your favorite no pork &#8216;Constitutionalists&#8217; is actually one of the biggest spenders. Oh but before you tell me he voted against the bills that gave his state and county all that pork/federal money. Yes he did, he WROTE it into the bills, knew it was going to pass then voted against it so he could stand on his record of not voting for pork. That is a POLITICIANS move, not a STATESMAN.</p>
<p><strong>Terry:</strong><br />
I&#8217;m a Ron Paul man, but this is one of those moments for me when I will be wincing. Ouch. Still, do you know any other candidate who opposes the Patriot Act and the Federal Reserve? We are too militaristic in our country, <a href="http://video.stumbleupon.com/#p=yblspfz36b">causing &#8220;blowback.&#8221;</a> How do we get rid of this national sin? RP is actually one of the most electable people on the ballot because he will receive votes from people who normally vote Democratic, Independent, or people who are so disgusted they don&#8217;t vote. Is Santorum your man? I don&#8217;t know much about him yet. What about these items I mentioned? I always like your spirit, Bobbie Sue. I think the issue is that we need to find a President who will live within the confines of the Constitution. No one but RP even pretends to do so.</p>

Michael Farris wrote this a couple of days ago about RP.<br />
&#8220;Ron Paul is an enemy of the legal principles that the homeschooling movement has used successfully to defend our freedom to teach our own children. He recently said that he does not believe that the 14th Amendment trumps the 10th Amendment. He said this is an abortion context (which proves that he is not politically pro-life) but, let&#8217;s examine what this means in a homechooling context. In the 1920s, the State of Oregon banned all private education. This Oregon law was challenged as a violation of the 14th Amendment. The Supreme Court ruled that the 14th Amendment&#8217;s Due Process Clause prohibited states from banning private education because this overrode parental rights in an unconstitutional fashion. If Ron Paul&#8217;s philosophy were applied to this case, then Oregon&#8217;s law would have prevailed under the 10th Amendment. The case I won before the Supreme Court of Michigan for homeschooling freedom was based on the 14th Amendment. The federal constitutional principles of religious freedom and parental rights overrode the power of Michigan to require homeschoolers to all be certified teachers. The homeschool victory that I argued before the Court of Appeal of California when that court had previously ruled that homeschooling was illegal in that state&#8211;was based on the 14th Amendment. I could go on. Home schooling would be legal in about 3 states in this country today if Ron Paul&#8217;s view of the Constitution was actually practiced by the Supreme Court. So I have a question for all of the members of Homeschoolers for Ron Paul: Do you agree with Ron Paul that the states have the exclusive authority over the legality of homeschooling and the 14th Amendment provides no constitutional right to homeschool? How can you support a candidate who denies the very constitutional principle that our movement used to win our freedom? Supporting Ron Paul in the name of homeschooling is like supporting Barack Obama in the name of reducing the national debt.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Bobbie Sue:</strong><br />
Terry, You are very kind with your words. Thank you for respecting another persons views. A RARE find from a RP fan.:) I truly wish his son Rand Paul had run I would support him 100%! He supports ending the FED, and his foreign policy views are more along what I believe. But the best part is HE VOTES with MORAL values, unlike his father. I do believe RP truly is a conservative in his heart he just refuses to vote that way. Read the article I posted above. I am backing Santorum though he was not my first pick. Honestly I felt Bachmann was the only one that was a TRUE Moral Conservative, she always voted for what was right no matter the cost. She is not a typical politician. Have you read her book or much about her? Truly a very impressive women who isn&#8217;t afraid to stand for truth no matter the cost. Santorum has always been my second choice, I think he has made a lot of political moves over the years, and though I understand his reasons why, I don&#8217;t like them nor do I think they were the best moves to make. But at this point in my opinion he is the best of what we have left. As to ending the FED, I agree it needs to happen! And would fully support that. Do I think it ever will? NO. Do I think a president has the power to end it? NO. I was just telling my mom today that it is pretty funny to listen to the presidential candidates talk, they all promise to this and that. And yet for the most part they can&#8217;t do any of it as we have a system set up my our Founding Fathers that requires a balance of power. But all that to say though I would LOVE to see the Fed ended, BUT I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s the most important thing to vote for. Morality is a much bigger deal to me than money.</p>
<p><strong>Bobbie Sue:</strong><br />
Terry, As for the Constitution I value it. And believe it is a VERY important document in it&#8217;s ENTIRETY! I know RP fans like to credit him as the only true Constitutionalists. But really his view is I am a 10th Amendment guy hang the rest of the Constitution! Asked of RP, Do you believe in the 2nd Amendment? RP: I believe it&#8217;s a 10th amendment issue. WHAT??? Seriously, it&#8217;s called the 2nd amendment! Do you believe murder is wrong? RP: I believe it&#8217;s a 10th amendment issue. (His voting record proves his stand on murder, no matter what his personal views are). Do you believe a marriage is between a man and a women? RP: It&#8217;s a 10th amendment issue. For a man who claims to be a Christian he certainly doesn&#8217;t turn to his Bible for guidance on how to vote. Do you believe a parent has the right to choose where and how their children get an education. RP: I believe it&#8217;s a 10th amendment issue. Even though the right has been won in 47 states based on the 14th amendment. His view would render all the fighting that you and your wife did useless. Then you have his views on drugs. But I will stop now. <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  What I am saying is I find all of the above to be MUCH more important to me and my views and way of life then my desire to see the end of the FED. You are right he will pull a lot of Democratic votes, Libertarian and Independents. But I don&#8217;t necessarily think that&#8217;s a good thing. I for one don&#8217;t want to be a supporter of someone who gets the endorsement of the Homosexual crowd, or the Nazi party of America. Or votes from people who support death.</p>

Terry, I did watch the last video you posted. And I do agree that we don&#8217;t need to be all over the world. But I also believe that when evil is happening and we can help stop it we should. I&#8217;ve heard RP say that if he was president he never would have joined in WWII. He would have let Hitler kill all the Jews and take total control of Europe. He wouldn&#8217;t have been willing to stop him till he came at us on our soil. I am a HUGE WWII buff and that alone is enough to get me to never support him. So though I don&#8217;t agree with going in and saving everyone. When there is a person who is killing millions and trying to take over the world I believe it is in our best interest to stop them not to mention that would be fulfilling the scriptures to love our neighbor. I think we should go in kick butt and get out, I though I don&#8217;t believe it&#8217;s our job to rebuild and stay there for years and years to make sure they can run the country we hand them. I do believe we are wrong to sit by and do nothing knowing full well our allies are being killed. If they are not our Allies and don&#8217;t support American then I say let them handle there own issues. Goodness I have went on long enough. I am trying to figure out what the 14th Amendment has to do with home schooling and I haven&#8217;t caught the connection yet. Isn&#8217;t the 14th Amendment the Amendment that was added to the Constitution to free the slaves?</p>
<p><strong>Bobbie Sue:</strong><br />
No it states . Section 1 &#8220;All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.&#8221; I assume they argued that NO state can enforce any law that abridges an American citizens privilege to choose the schooling of their choice. However they used it they won.</p>
<p><strong>Terry:</strong><br />
Thanks. More of this discussion later, if you will. I have just finished an exhausting day. Tomorrow will be the same. But I want to have a coherent discussion on this. Are you up to it tomorrow or Friday?</p>

I don&#8217;t have an issue with that. But I don&#8217;t want to discuss him with anyone other than you. MOST RP fans are rude and can&#8217;t write more than two sentences without name calling. You respect other peoples choices, which makes it easy to talk to you.</p>
<p><strong>Terry (I asked her something that is often on my mind politically.  I look back on this and think it is a bit of a stiff and formal question, and I want to comment on it later.):</strong><br />
Many Christians believe that the next one world government will bring in the Anti-Christ, the Bible prophesied counterfeit Messiah.  Both liberals and conservative politicians are bringing all authority to the federal government, then giving away that authority to the UN or to NAFTA or to the Federal Reserve.  The result will bring a one-world government either way.  Bobbie Sue, I know that you, too, follow Christ.  What can Christians do with their vote that will make sure that they themselves will not inadvertently bring in the kingdom of the Anti-Christ?</p>
<p><strong>Bobbie Sue:</strong><br />
The scriptures are written and will come to pass no matter what anyone does. I personally do not think we will even be a country when the Anti-Christ comes. So I am not sure that our votes has anything to do with it. I do think that we are to be careful and wise with our privilege to vote. We need to look at the records of the candidates and pick the one that best represents our values. With that being said, I think people often give too much credit/ power to the office of president. I am not saying it&#8217;s not important, but we are set up with a government with three branches for a reason, and just because a presidential candidate says they will do something doesn&#8217;t mean it will come to pass. If you control the Executive and Legislative branches with good people you can definitely move mountains if you&#8217;re so inclined. </p>
<p><strong>Terry:</strong><br />
Forty four minutes into the last Republican presidential debate, Rick Santorum quoted the Brookings Institute, saying that people are rarely poor if the do three things- work, graduate from high school, and get married before they have children. Any comments?</p>

I didn&#8217;t watch the debate so I will have to take your word for what RS said. I would agree with that statement. If you have a solid work ethic, can read and write and have the morals to wait till you&#8217;re married to have children/sex. You will make something of yourself. You might not be rich but you will be able to provide enough to live on.</p>

For the record, Santorum is the best that I see in the four we have left. I am not a huge fan of his, which is why I don&#8217;t post anything about him. I am not happy with some of his choices in the past. I truly think Michelle Bachmann was the only candidate who truly voted with her Bible as her moral compass, which to me is the most important thing.</p>

<p>I agree with Bobbie Sue on some things. I appreciate that we have a government that at least in theory does not give one person too much power.  But what has happened is that the Presidency in our country has become like a kingship or even the office of a Messiah.  What I want in a President, and what Bobbie Sue wants, is a President that will not overstep the bounds of their Constitutional authority. </p>
<p>Thomas Jefferson said this:<br />
<em>“In questions of powers, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.” </em></p>
<p>So what I am after is a President that will not aggrandize himself.  I already have a Messiah, thank you very much, and I don&#8217;t need a second one.  But the issue of the Federal Reserve is a big one for me.  Mayer Amshel Rothschild (1744–1812), founder of the Rothschild family banking dynasty once said this:<br />
<em>“Give me control of a nation’s money supply, and I care not who makes it’s laws.” </em> </p>
<p>One of his descendants, Baron Nathan Rothschild (1840–1915), said:<br />
<em>“I care not what puppet is placed on the throne of England to rule the Empire, …The man that controls Britain’s money supply controls the British Empire. And I control the money supply.”</em></p>
<p>So much of our nation&#8217;s sovereignty is given to financiers such as these type of men who control the Federal Reserve that we really don&#8217;t have control of our own country&#8217;s destiny or sovereignty.  To support a candidate who will support the Federal Reserve is just a way of wasting a vote because we vote away our nation&#8217;s own sovereignty.  People are mildly amused by people like myself who waste our votes for Constitutional candidates.  But I am not the one who is wasting their vote.  I want my vote to count for something.</p>
<p>Now as to the Patriot Act.  It nullifies the rights that we as a nation gained during our Revolutionary War.  Only Ron Paul wants the elimination of the Patriot Act and the Federal Reserve.  Only he knows how to do it.  It is ironic.  I am supporting a President because of what he WON&#8217;T do, and because of the power he tells us he will NOT use.</p>
<p>One last thing.  If we try to vote in a Messiah, we will end up with the Anti-Christ.  Enough said&#8230;for now.</p>

		<title>9/11: America is Trying to Rebuild Without Repentance</title>

Soon after the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001,  America flocked to the churches to find comfort from the terror of knowing that we had such a committed enemy, who would attack us in our own land.  We flocked to our churches in horror, but did we seek God&#8217;s face in repentance?</p>
<p>I have just finished reading a book by the Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn.  I highly recommend the book, titled <a href="http://superstore.wnd.com/books/The-Harbinger-The-ancient-mystery-that-holds-the-secret-of-Americas-future-Paperback">The Harbinger – The Ancient Mystery That Holds the Secret of America&#8217;s Future</a>.  The book is written in the narrative style of a journalist that comes across a mysterious prophet that explains how America&#8217;s position in the world is similar to Israel&#8217;s position just before their destruction.  Though it is written in fictional style, the message is a deadly serious one.</p>
<p>Israel was attacked by the terrorists of their time, the Assyrians.  The Assyrians were known for inhuman tortures toward their enemies.  They would skin their enemies alive and hang their skins up as a warning for others not to dare oppose them.  The Assyrians had made a quick attack on Israel, as recorded in Isaiah chapter nine, then had gone away.  The Scripture makes it clear that the attack was a warning to Israel to seek His face, to remember their history, to repent, and then – only then – to rebuild.  To rebuild without repentance would be to rebuild on the wrong foundation.  Israel chose to rebuild, but not to repent and seek God&#8217;s face about their national sins.  Ten years after this small initial attack, the Assyrians overran Israel, conquered and destroyed them.  Will the same happen to America?</p>
<p>Here is the pertinent central Scripture that Rabbi Cahn referred to:<br />
<em>The Lord has sent a word against Jacob, and it will fall on Israel; and all the people will know, Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria, <strong>who say in pride and in arrogance of heart</strong>:  &#8220;The bricks have fallen, but we will build with dressed stones; the sycamores have been cut down, but we will put cedars in their place.&#8221;</em><br />
~ Isaiah 9:8-10 </p>
<p>This part of Scripture was actually referred to by a political leader the day after the attacks, but without giving the context of the verses.  It was meant to be words of comfort, but the words are words of impending judgment.  Three years later, another American political candidate again referred to the verse, “<em>The bricks are fallen, but we will build&#8230;</em>”, but look at the context of the verse.  The context is pride against God.</p>
<p>On February 24, 2009, President Obama came to the hill one month after his inauguration and spoke to the House of Representatives.  He said:<br />
<em>“But while our economy may be weakened and our confidence shaken; though we are living through difficult and uncertain times, tonight I want every American to know this – We will rebuild.”</em></p>
<p>Yes, we are rebuilding, but without repentance.  By doing so, our nation is inviting our own destruction.  We are not seeking God, and God is beginning to remove our hedge of protection.</p>
<p>We are also not remembering our history.  Here are some important events of the days leading up to our nation&#8217;s first Presidential inauguration.  In 1776 the Declaration of Independence was written.  The Revolutionary War followed.  Then in 1787, the  US Constitution was ratified and our government was set up.  The day of Washington&#8217;s inauguration was April 30, 1789, and took place in the Federal Hall in New York city.  </p>
<p>Let me include a part of Washington&#8217;s first inaugural address:<br />
<em>“Such being the impressions under which I have, in obedience to the public summons, repaired to the present station, it would be peculiarly improper to omit in this first official act my fervent supplications to that Almighty Being who rules over the universe, who presides in the councils of nations, and whose providential aids can supply every human defect, that His benediction may consecrate to the liberties and happiness of the people of the United States a Government instituted by themselves for these essential purposes, and may enable every instrument employed in its administration to execute with success the functions allotted to his charge. In tendering this homage to the Great Author of every public and private good, I assure myself that it expresses your sentiments not less than my own, nor those of my fellow-citizens at large less than either. No people can be bound to acknowledge and adore the Invisible Hand which conducts the affairs of men more than those of the United States. Every step by which they have advanced to the character of an independent nation seems to have been distinguished by some token of providential agency&#8230;”</em></p>
<p>After Washington&#8217;s address, he led the newly elected Senate and House of Representatives in an eight block walk to St. Paul&#8217;s Cathedral, where together they prayed a prayer of dedication of our newly formed country to God.</p>
<p>Now up to the present time.  The Federal Hall still exists.  It stands between the New York Stock Exchange and Wall Street.  St. Paul&#8217;s Cathedral still exists.  In the field of the land that was originally owned by St. Paul&#8217;s Cathedral stands Ground Zero.  This was the location of the 9/11 attacks.  St Paul&#8217;s Cathedral stands less than 300 feet from the where the twin towers stood.</p>
<p>There is much more to be said.  But at this time it is extremely important that we remember our God and remember our history.  It is important that we worship God and not money.  Our past will lead us securely to the future.  Will America repent?  I believe our very lives may depend upon it.</p>

For between $30 and $100 for each new vehicle sold in the US, our nation could:<br />
•  Keep gasoline prices below $2 per gallon,<br />
•  Nullify our country&#8217;s dependence on OPEC,<br />
•  Improve our national economy, especially in Michigan,<br />
•  Minimize our world&#8217;s need for an energy war,<br />
and<br />
•  Greatly improve our environment.</p>
<p>There is a book out that introduces an energy concept so simple, so inexpensive, and so easy to apply that it astounds me that this book hasn&#8217;t taken the country by storm.  What is this concept?  The book introduces the requirement that all vehicles sold in the US become what I will call GEM vehicles &#8211; able to use Gasoline, Ethanol, and Methanol as fuel.</p>
<p>The book is &#8220;Energy Victory &#8211; Winning the War on Terror by Breaking Free of Oil&#8221; by Dr. Robert Zubrin.  Dr. Zubrin suggests requiring that all new vehicles sold in the United States be fitted to accept three types of fuel &#8211; Gasoline, Ethanol, and Methanol.  The technology for this has been around since the 1980s.  Brazil already has a similar national requirement.  Brazil has had great success in meeting its country&#8217;s energy needs in an unstable oil market.</p>
<p>What modifications need to be made and what are the costs?  It involves making sure that all of the hoses that connect with the fuel supply are able to take the acidity of all three of the fuels.  Then it requires the fuel intake sensor to modified to be able to measure the oxygen level of the incoming fuel.  This one time cost would be between $30 and $100 per new vehicle produced.</p>
<p>What are the benefits?  Many.  The US would become independent of OPEC, which is controlled by countries hostile to us.  This requirement would deter the need for war, first by the United States, then all over the world.  Think of it.  Right now the US is funding both sides of the war on terror.  We are giving oil money to OPEC which is controlled by radical Muslims.  They then use some of the trillion dollars a year we give them to wage their side of the war.</p>
<p>With this energy solution, there would be many fewer possibilities of ecological disasters like the 2010 BP spill.  An ethanol or methanol spill would not harm the environment.  </p>
<p>This energy solution is also very, very good for the economy.  If this was national policy, thousands of cottage industries would raise up to produce methanol or another bio-fuel to be used by motorists.  This would not be money kept in the hands of only a few of the already very wealthy, but would spread the wealth out all over the nation.</p>
<p>We already have flex fueled vehicles that use either ethanol or gasoline.  Why would we add accepting methanol to the requirement in the flex fueled engine?  The answer is that methanol is a fuel that the United States is able to produce in abundance.  It can be made from coal, natural gas, or any rotting vegetation.  Ethanol is produced only by vegetation that has a high starch content.  In the US, that is mostly corn, but could also be beets.  Methanol does not have to be produced this way.  It could be made out of farm waste or leaves or grass clippings or just get creative.  There are hundreds of possibilities of how to produce methanol.  <a href="http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2352061432871186746&amp;ei=LOlwSuKpIIbOqQKO5KC-Bg&amp;q=algae+biofuel&amp;hl=en#">Making methanol out of algae</a> is one of the possibilities, and growing algae in the desert is one good solution.  Producing methanol does not require us to use up our food supply as a source of fuel.  Right now, methanol is produced for about 60 cents a gallon.  It only has about half of the energy that gasoline has, so you would be going to the gas station twice as often.  But buying methanol is the energy equivalent of buying gasoline at $1.20 per gallon.  Even with taxes, due to competitive pressure, gas would never go above $2.00 per gallon, if in fact you chose to use gasoline.  Which ever source of fuel is the cheapest at the time would usually win out at the pump, but those who have environmental concerns could choose to always use ethanol or methanol.</p>
<p>Why force the GEM requirement at all?  Why not just allow our free enterprise economy to take care of this problem on its own?  Because of a supply and demand problem.  Look around at the gas stations now.  There are only a few ethanol gas stations because there are not many cars that use ethanol.  Why aren&#8217;t there more cars that use ethanol?  Partly because there are not enough gas stations to supply the ethanol anyway.  It&#8217;s a chicken and egg problem.  Which will go first?  With the simple GEM requirement, the problem is solved.  All cars will be able to use three types of fuel.  Then the gas stations will catch up to whatever the next popular fuel is or they will go broke.</p>
<p>If all vehicles were flex fueled GEM vehicles, then finally the free enterprise system could go into overdrive and begin to help our economy.  We would never again see gasoline prices over $2.00 per gallon because there would be too much competitive pressure to keep the price of gasoline low.  We may soon see a <a href="http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/finance/2010/December/Experts-Gas-Prices-Could-Hit-5-a-Gallon-Soon/">$5.00/gallon gas price</a>.  But fuels for our vehicles at these prices are absolutely and completely unnecessary.  Which state will gain the most from the GEM requirement?  Michigan will, because we are so automobile dependent.  But this requirement is good for all citizens of the United States.</p>
<p>If this is such a good idea, why hasn&#8217;t it been done yet?  It can&#8217;t be that simple, can it?  Yes it is simple, but in this case, as in many cases, simple is the opposite of easy.  We need to go against the ingrained interests of the Republican and the Democratic Parties.  These two parties have sold out to the oil industry.  They have not looked out for the interests of We the People.  </p>
<p>Dr. John Marburger, Presidential adviser for George W. Bush, was shown this option for energy independence.  When asked what was stopping America from making this flex-fueled mandate, he replied simply, &#8220;We don&#8217;t believe in mandates.&#8221;  It&#8217;s a lie.  There are dozens of government mandates on vehicles supported by both parties.  These mandates are required for safety and fuel efficiency reasons.  Why not make this requirement, which has much more far reaching positive purposes, including national security concerns?</p>
<p>In the fall of 2005, Barak Obama was one of one of three Senators which watered down a 2005 bill to make this flex-fuel requirement.  See Senate bills S.1994 and S.2025.  There are many examples that that both major political parties are &#8220;fueled&#8221; by oil money.</p>
<p>There is another, more complete answer as to why this mandate is not now US law.  In some senses the entire world economy is based on oil, and oil is measured in American dollars.  There are those who believe that if we do not go along with the OPEC oil interests, OPEC will base their oil prices on some other currency, and ruin our national economy.  I see both dangers.  But for me, we cannot remain so dependent on our enemies&#8217; whims.  Mandating all vehicles to be flex-fueled GEM vehicles is elegant in its simplicity and provides for a more stable economy.  It minimizes the possibility of environmental disasters like the BP oil spill, and it minimizes the incentive for an energy war.  Every raise in fuel prices brings up the cost to any merchandise shipped to us, maybe most importantly our food prices.  There are many good reasons to take this solution seriously.</p>
